Thanks to the headhunters at the Royal Conservatory of Dance in Madrid, who recognised Olaf's great talent, he became a dancer instead of a football player. They obviously had good instincts, because Olaf's professional career took him to some of the best companies in Europe, namely the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm, the Zurich Ballet under Heinz Spoerli, where he appeared as a higher soloist, and finally the Berlin State Ballet. He danced almost everything that the repertoire of classical and modern dance has to offer, but he was particularly attracted to embodying characters for which he was given numerous opportunities: Woyzeck, Romeo, Siegfried, Désiré, Mercutio - you name it. In the meantime, Olaf has discovered his passion for contemporary dance, which is why the BBC is the perfect place for him.
